The SRH University of Applied Sciences Heidelberg has been approved by the government and positions itself with more than 30 degree programmes within the departments Computer Science, Business Administration, Social- and Behavioural Science, Engineering and Architecture.
In 2009 the SRH University was honoured for the second time with the highest seal of quality by the advisory council for scientific matters. On top of that, in 2003 it was the first private university that achieved the “University-MOT†successfully. This award was handed out again to us this year. Especially the diversity of subjects and the positive job prospects were pointed out by the advisory council for scientific matters.
The SRH chairman Prof. Klaus Hekking states: “This is a wonderful confirmation of our claim to offer an alternative to the mass production at state universities.†Prof. Dr. Jörg Winterberg, president of the SRH University, adds:†This shows, that we can offer students a first-class quality education during their student time and furthermore prepare them successfully for the job market.†At least one figure demonstrates this. Nine out of ten graduates find a suitable job within the first 6 months after their graduation.
At the moment there are around 1750 matriculated students at the SRH University who graduate with a bachelor or master degree. Within the Bologna process and consequently the change of the university degrees, all subjects offered have been accredited by the appropriate agencies and approved by the ministry of science.
The SRH University of Applied Sciences Heixdelberg prepares its students for leading or managerial tasks. This includes besides scientific qualifications, development of personality and social intelligence and furthermore the individual support of talented students as well as imparting key qualifications.
It is a special feature of the SRH University of Applied Sciences to promote - in an interdisciplinary manner - the practice-oriented application of knowledge in the fields of teaching, research and scientific training.
During the whole time, the university accompanies, advises and supports its students through its career-service-concept in order to smooth the transition from university into the job sector and furthermore extend a vivid network between graduates and the university. The SRH University has special obligations particularly towards disabled people.
Another major point in the scientific portfolio of the SRH University is the international oriented degrees in combination with the long-term supported interaction between science and economy at the most renowned scientific location world wide – Heidelberg.
The team HeidelSat, as one example, built a ground station and a satellite named “HeidelSat†which was shot from Baikonor, Kazakhstan with a satellite rocket into space in order to catch and measure cosmic showers.
